Membership in the SEABC
Membership in the Structural Engineers Association of British Columbia (SEABC) is open to individuals and organizations practicing in Structural Engineering:
- Individual members: Structural and civil engineers who are practicing structural engineering, and engineers in training (E.I.T.), registered as a professional engineer or E.I.T. with a provincial or territorial association or state licensing board. The annual membership fee is $75.
- Corporate members: Corporate membership is not currently active. Companies paying for staff will have “sponsorship” status and will be recognized in turn.
- Associate members: Technologists, non-structural engineers, and engineering students. Membership fees will be waived to full-time students.
- Affiliate members: Individuals, corporations or associations who share the interests of the society.
- Honorary members: May be awarded by the directors to any person of acknowledged eminence in structural engineering or related science.

Benefits
SEABC members receive e-mail notification of upcoming events including the following:
- free monthly evening seminars
- social events
- special technical seminars presented by the SEABC
- special technical seminars presented by other organizations, e.g. UBC, CSCE
- courses offered in the Certificate in Structural Engineering Program
Members are also entitled to discounted registration fees at the special technical seminars presented by the SEABC.
Membership Application
To apply for membership of the SEABC, please download the application form and submit it in one of the following ways:
- Online payment (recommended): Send your completed application form to

seabc.ca or fax to +1-85558-SEABC. The SEABC Registrar will evaluate your application, and send you instructions to activate your online profile and pay your membership fee. - Cheque payment: Send your completed application form and cheque payment to:

Membership Renewal
SEABC membership renewal is due by 1 January every year. Members can renew online (credit card) of offline (cheque).
Renewing online
To pay your annual membership fee online by credit card:
If you have used the online membership system before
Open your web browser at www.seabc.ca/members, and enter your membership number and password to log in. Follow the prompts to renew your membership.
If you have not used the online membership system before
If you have not used the online system before, you will need to activate your online account before proceeding:
- Open your web browser at www.seabc.ca/members.
- Select the option to "activate your online account".
- Enter your membership number.
- Enter a password of choice (twice)
- Enter your date of birth (used as your password reminder).
Once your account has been activated and you are logged in, please check and update (if necessary) your contact details before proceeding to renew your membership.
Renewing offline
If you prefer to pay your annual membership fee by cheque, send a cheque to the amount of $75 plus HST to the SEABC Registrar. Please clearly mark your payment with your name and membership number.

Bulk renewals
Bulk renewals are not supported using the online payment facility at this time. To renew for multiple people in your organisation, please download a membership renewal form. Enter the names and membership numbers of members to renew, and return with cheque payment to the SEABC Registrar.
