The Stack at 1133 Melville will be the tallest office tower in downtown Vancouver upon completion later this year, reaching 550 feet with 38 storeys of floor plate over multiple “Boxes” that appear to be stacked upon one another, hence the name. The floor plates feature large spans between columns and substantial cantilevers at the box transitions thanks to the use of Post Tensioning (PT) Cable Design. The structure was designed by RJC Engineers with the use of Non-Linear Time History Analysis in order to better simulate the structure’s behavior during severe seismic events.
Please join the SEABC YMG in a walk through of the structure with engineers from RJC’s Design and Field Teams to answer questions about the building. The structure has just been topped off, so everyone will be able to enjoy the views from the top as well as the structure itself!”
Important Note: The project is currently under construction. Tour members are required to bring their own personal protective equipment (hard had, steel-toed boots, high-visibility vest).
